Absolute Value

-The distance between zero and the point representing a real number on the number line 

 

Algebraic Model

-An expression, equation or inequality that uses variables to represent a real-life situation

 

Angle of Depression

-When you look down at an object, the angle that your line of sight makes with a line drawn horizontally

 

Angle of Elevation

-When you look up at an object, the angle your line of sight makes with a line drawn horizontally

 

Assosiative Property

-of Addition

     -The way three numbers are grouped when adding does not change the sum

-of Multiplication

     -The way three numbers are grouped when multiplying does not change the product

 

Coefficient

-If a term of an expression consists of  a number multiplied by one or more variables, the number is the coefficient of the term

 

Commission

-a form of payment to an agent for services rendered

 

Commutative Property

-of Addition

     -The order in which two numbers are added does not change the sum

-of Multiplication

     -The oder in which two numbers are multiplied does not change the product

 

Congruence

-the same shape and size, but are in different positions (for instance one may be rotated, flipped, or simply placed somewhere else).

- The coordinate system formed by two real number lines that intersect at a right triangle

-A two variable equation is written in function form if one of its variables is isolated on one side of the equation
