Problem

Amy went to the store and bought 10 smencils for $1.50. How much would 7 of the same smencils?

 Exemplar

First you have to write down all the information you have

10 smencils cost $1.50

we need to find out how much 7 smencils cost

Then,we find out how much each smencil costs.

$1.50/10 smencils= $0.15 per smencil

Then, we multiply the unit rate by seven to get the cost for smeven pencils

$0.15x7=$1.05

You need $1.05 to buy seven smencils
