Standard Af1.2

I can use the correct order of operations to evaluate algebraic expressions such as 3(2x + 5)2.

Student friendly language

I can use the order of operation rules to solve problems like 3(2x+5)2

Example

 4(3+5)

First you would use the distributive property to simplify the problem.

4(3+5)

(12+20)

Next you would add the numbers in the parrenthesis.

(12+20)

Yuor final answer would turn out to be 32.

Answer 32.

Parenthesis, Exponents,(Multiplication/Division) then

                                 (Add/Subtract)

Please Excuse (My Dear) (Aunt Sally).

I found this example on line at http://www.regentsprep.org/rEGENTS/math/orderop/Lorder.htm on google
