Standard NS 1.2
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers (integers, fractions, and terminating decimals) and take positive rational numbers to whole-number powers.
The standard says that when you add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers you take the the rational numbers like integers, fractions and terminating decimals and turn them into exponents.
My example for ns1.2
82(3-4)+ 102=
(step.1) Change subtration to addition
82 ( 3+ -4) + 102/4 =
(step.2) Using the Distributive poperty distribute 82 to 3 and -4
246 + -328 + 102/4
(Step.3) Divide 102 by 4
246 + -328 + 25.5
(step.4) add all all the numbers up to get the total of 56.5
