Assignment: Create an exemplar that demonstrates an understanding of Standard NS 1.2 

Your final product must include the following:

  • The text of the standard as written in the California State Framework. 
  • (see http://www.cde.ca.gov/ci/ma/cf/documents/math-ch3-k-7.pdf)
  • What the standard really means in student friendly language.
  • A sample problem that you create.
  • An exemplar solution to your problem.
  • A link to one of Mr. Cox's examples.
  • A link to some other online resource for Standard NS 1.2 

Due: Friday October 10 no later than 3:00pm  

Standard NS 1-2

Add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers (integers, fractions, and terminating decimals) and take positive rational numbers to whole-number powers.

What that means...

You need to know how to add, substract, multply, and divide. Also, know how to define what rational numbers are and lastly I can take positive rational numbers to whole number powers.
