4(12x+5)+3=119

48x+20+3=119 Step 1. Ditribute the 4 to 12 and 5.

48x+23=119 Step 2. Combine like terms 20 and 3.

48x+23=119

+-23 +-23

48x=96 Step 3. Add -23 to both sides.
